Jean Prengel - Lead Vocals & Percussion
Our newest addition to Haulin' Brass, Jean Prengel brings a powerful vocal force to the group. Jean has, always, had a passion for singing since she was little. She has been singing in local classic rock bands since the late 1990’s and has had the privilege and honor to work with many talented musicians over the years. She is very excited about joining Haulin’ Brass and is looking forward to having lots of fun and playing more cowbell!
Tim Lyke - Trombone, Harmonica & Vocals
Tim is a retired community newspaper publisher who has been in classic rock horn bands for more than 30 years. He says Haulin' Brass is his favorite.
Tim has played trombone while riding a bike, jumping on a trampoline and claims to be the only person in the world who can play trombone with no hands.
Roger Gundlach - Trumpet & Vocals
Roger started playing trumpet at age 11 in the school band program in Rhinelander, WI.
While in High School, he was influenced by the horn driven bands of Blood, Sweat and Tears; Chicago, and Chase.
Roger has played in various bands in Wisconsin including: High Impulse and The Rippin' Horns, Quest and Groove Syndicate. He also plays occasionally with the Ripon College Jazz Band and plays with the Friesland Community Band on Tuesday evenings in the summer.
Stephen Brennan (RTR) - Saxophones
Plays a variety of woodwinds including Soprano Sax, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, Bass Sax, Flute Clarinet, Oboe.
RTR was a Union freelance musician in the 70’s and 80’s and is equally proficient playing classical and jazz music.
Played in many pit orchestras for musicals and shows, did local TV studio work, and has performed for many composer's original recordings. Currently plays in local horn bands and big bands. Rockin' it with his wild coats and hats.
John Jarmuskiewicz - Bass Guitar & Vocals
John is self taught and has been playing in local variety bands for 40 years.
After being in the woodworking industry for over 35 years, he decided to become his own boss and started a leatherworking business, Gecko Leather Works, where he makes handmade guitar straps.
Past bands include, Loner, Flashback, Past Midnight, The Blake Burrus Band and Cornerstone.
Favorite bass players include, but not limited to James Jamerson, Duck Dunn, Peter Cetera, Bobby Vega, Roscoe Beck, and Rocco Prestia
Dave Zabler - Drums
Dave has been drumming since age 6.
He has played at the Wisconsin State Fair, Summerfest, Waukesha and Grafton Blues Festivals, numerous bars, weddings and parties.
Dave is a retired firefighter and currently enjoys volunteering at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
Favorite drummers include Buddy Rich and Steve Gadd.
Bob Honigberg - Guitar & Vocals
Bob is an electric lead and rhythm guitarist who currently plays guitars, violin and mando in The Robert Austin Project. In the Milwaukee area, he has also played with The Lilies (all original) and The Robert James Austin Band. Playing primarily a Gibson-SG and Fender Stratocaster, he is most influenced by classic rock guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Carlos Santana. Originally from Chicago (but a big Packer fan), he is thrilled to be playing classics from the Blues Brothers and Chicago, funky tunes from the Doobie Brothers and Earth Wind & Fire, and basically any music that can get people dancing!
Jim Barnes - Keyboards & Vocals
Joining the group in the summer of 2024, Jim is a retired high school/community band director. He also plays jazz piano in two area big bands, and also plays French horn professionally when time permits. Rock Band experience includes being the founding member of OTR- the Band (established 2019) and "cut his teeth" in the rock scene with "Big City" way back in the 1980s. He is also known to pick up the banjo & accordion once in a while.
